Terms & Conditions
Barbell Medicine Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: July 18, 2026
Last Updated: July 18, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the websites, online stores, customer accounts, digital content, products, and services offered by Barbell Medicine, LLC (“Barbell Medicine,” “BBM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms apply to purchases and services offered through Barbell Medicine websites, including barbellmedicine.com, and any related pages, customer portals, or services that link to these Terms.
By using our website, creating an account, placing an order, enrolling in a subscription, or purchasing or using a Barbell Medicine product or service, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully.
1. Related Policies and Agreements
These Terms incorporate by reference our:
- Privacy Policy;
- Shipping & Refund Policy;
- Product- or service-specific descriptions and disclosures;
- Subscription terms presented at checkout;
- Coaching, consultation, or program onboarding information provided after purchase; and
- Any other policies or agreements presented to you in connection with a particular product or service.
Use of the Barbell Medicine mobile application may also be governed by a separate mobile application End User License Agreement. The mobile application agreement governs use of the app software, while these Terms govern website purchases, customer accounts, subscriptions, program content, products, and services unless otherwise stated.
If product-specific terms conflict with these general Terms, the more specific terms will govern that product or service.
2. Eligibility and Acceptance
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to enter into these Terms independently.
A person under 18 may use a Barbell Medicine product or service only with the authorization and appropriate supervision of a parent or legal guardian. When an adult purchases a product or service for a minor, the adult:
- Accepts these Terms on behalf of the minor;
- Represents that the adult has authority to do so;
- Is responsible for supervising the minor’s use of the product or service; and
- Is responsible for determining whether the product, service, exercise, or activity is appropriate for the minor.
We may refuse service, cancel an order, or restrict access when we reasonably believe that eligibility requirements have not been met.
3. Customer Accounts
Some products and services require a Barbell Medicine customer account.
You agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate account and payment information;
- Keep your contact information current;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password and login credentials;
- Promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized account activity; and
- Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account, except to the extent caused by Barbell Medicine’s failure to use reasonable security measures.
You may not sell, transfer, rent, or commercially share your account.
An account may be used on more than one personal device when those devices are being used for the account holder or the individual athlete for whom the applicable product was purchased. Creating de facto multi-user access through extensive account sharing is not permitted.
4. Product and Service Information
We make reasonable efforts to describe our products and services accurately. However, photographs, illustrations, screenshots, colors, packaging, product appearance, and other visual representations may vary.
Training programs, coaching services, consultations, memberships, and other services may evolve over time. We may make reasonable changes to:
- Delivery methods;
- Technology platforms;
- Program formatting;
- Exercise selections or educational materials;
- Coach assignments;
- Communication systems;
- Customer portals;
- Product packaging; or
- Administrative processes.
These changes may be made when necessary to maintain, improve, update, or continue providing the applicable product or service.
A product detail page is a sales description and may not contain every administrative or operational detail. Additional information provided during onboarding, by email, through account materials, or directly by a Barbell Medicine staff member may form part of the applicable service terms.
5. Pricing, Payment, Taxes, and Order Acceptance
Prices are displayed in the currency indicated at checkout and may change without notice. A price change will not retroactively affect an order already accepted, except where the displayed price was clearly erroneous.
You authorize Barbell Medicine and its payment processors to charge the payment method you provide for:
- Your order;
- Applicable taxes;
- Shipping charges;
- Recurring subscription charges;
- Installments; and
- Other amounts disclosed before purchase.
You are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method.
An order confirmation acknowledges that we received your order. It does not necessarily mean that we have accepted or are able to fulfill it. We may refuse, limit, place on hold, or cancel an order for reasons including:
- Suspected fraud or unauthorized payment;
- Incorrect pricing or product information;
- Inventory limitations;
- Technical errors;
- Apparent resale or redistribution;
- Violation of these Terms; or
- Legal or regulatory restrictions.
When we cancel a paid order before fulfillment, we will ordinarily refund the amount charged for the canceled portion.
Discounts, coupons, credits, and promotional offers:
- May be subject to eligibility requirements and exclusions;
- May not be combined unless expressly permitted;
- May be changed or withdrawn before use;
- Have no cash value unless required by law; and
- May be revoked when obtained or used improperly.
6. Physical Products, Shipping, and Delivery
Physical-product purchases are subject to our Shipping & Refund Policy.
Shipping and delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly state otherwise. Delivery may be affected by carriers, weather, supply constraints, address errors, customs processes, and events outside our reasonable control.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Additional charges resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address may be your responsibility.
Risk of loss and title to physical goods pass as provided by applicable law and the terms of the carrier or payment transaction.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or similar government charges unless expressly included at checkout.
7. Digital Training Programs and Educational Materials
7.1 Individual-athlete license
When you purchase a Barbell Medicine digital training program, template, eBook, spreadsheet, video, or other downloadable or account-based educational product, Barbell Medicine grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, and nontransferable license to use the purchased materials for one athlete’s personal, noncommercial use.
The purchase provides a license to use the materials. It does not transfer ownership of the materials or any Barbell Medicine intellectual property.
7.2 Purchases for another athlete
A parent, legal guardian, caregiver, or other authorized person may purchase, access, review, and help administer a program for the individual athlete for whom it was purchased.
For example, a parent may purchase a program for a teenage athlete and help the athlete follow it. That does not authorize the parent and the athlete to run the program independently as two separately licensed athletes.
Unless BBM expressly offers a household, team, facility, or multi-athlete license, each athlete independently using a paid program requires a separate purchase.
7.3 App and account access
Where a digital program is delivered through a Barbell Medicine account or mobile application, access is attached to the applicable customer account.
A single purchase does not create separate program entitlements for multiple customer accounts.
Reasonable use of a logged-in device by the athlete for whom the program was purchased is permitted. You may not share credentials or use one account to provide ongoing independent access to multiple athletes.
7.4 Prohibited distribution and use
You may not, without BBM’s written permission:
- Copy or distribute purchased materials to other athletes;
- Email, message, forward, or upload program files for others’ independent use;
- Post materials on a public website, forum, social-media platform, shared drive, file-sharing service, or similar location;
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or transfer the materials;
- Remove copyright, trademark, authorship, or proprietary notices;
- Convert the materials into a competing product or service;
- Use the materials as the basis of a paid group program, membership, course, or commercial coaching service;
- Provide copies to clients, gym members, teams, organizations, or other groups; or
- Circumvent access controls or download restrictions.
This section does not prohibit ordinary personal backup copies or reasonable assistance provided to the one athlete for whom the program was purchased.
7.5 Lifetime access and support
When a Barbell Medicine product is advertised as including “lifetime access” or “lifetime support,” BBM intends to continue making the purchased product available to the original customer without requiring the customer to purchase the same product again.
The method of access may change over time. For example:
- Download links may expire and be replaced;
- Files may move to a customer account or different platform;
- File formats may change;
- A program may be migrated into or out of an application;
- Older versions may be replaced by equivalent archived or updated materials; or
- The customer may need to contact BBM to restore access.
“Lifetime access” does not guarantee that a particular URL, download link, application, file format, hosting provider, or technology platform will operate forever. It means that BBM will make reasonable efforts to preserve access to the purchased program for the original customer while BBM continues to operate and has the legal and practical ability to provide the content.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping reasonable personal copies of downloadable materials;
- Maintaining access to the email address or account associated with the purchase;
- Keeping your account information current; and
- Providing reasonable purchase verification when requesting restored access.
Lifetime access and support do not include unlimited individualized coaching, technical support for unsupported third-party software, custom program modifications, or future products unless expressly stated.
8. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
Certain BBM products and services are sold on a recurring subscription basis.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize BBM to charge your selected payment method automatically at the price and billing interval disclosed at checkout until you cancel or the subscription otherwise ends.
8.1 Renewal
Your subscription will renew automatically unless canceled before the next renewal is processed.
Renewal dates may occasionally shift slightly because of payment-processing issues, account changes, retries, calendar differences, approved pauses, or administrative adjustments.
8.2 Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription through the cancellation method made available for the applicable service or by contacting BBM when account-based cancellation is unavailable.
Cancellation:
- Stops future automatic renewals;
- Does not ordinarily reverse a charge that has already been processed;
- Does not ordinarily create a prorated refund; and
- Allows access or service to continue through the end of the paid subscription period unless otherwise disclosed.
You are responsible for canceling before the next renewal if you do not want to be charged again.
8.3 Failed payments
If a recurring payment fails, we may:
- Retry the payment;
- Ask you to update your payment method;
- Place the subscription on hold;
- Limit access while payment remains outstanding; or
- Cancel the subscription.
8.4 Price changes
We may change subscription pricing prospectively. When required, we will provide advance notice before the new price takes effect.
Continuing the subscription after the effective date of a properly disclosed price change constitutes acceptance of the new price, subject to applicable law.
8.5 Promotional and legacy pricing
Discounted, founder, introductory, legacy, or promotional subscription pricing may be subject to special eligibility requirements.
Unless expressly promised otherwise, promotional pricing may end when:
- The subscription is canceled;
- Payment lapses;
- The customer changes plans;
- The customer no longer qualifies;
- The promotion expires; or
- The applicable product is discontinued or materially restructured.
9. Coaching, Programming, Consultations, and Other Services
BBM may offer services including:
- Fitness coaching;
- Nutrition coaching;
- Combined fitness and nutrition coaching;
- Injury and rehabilitation coaching;
- Group programming;
- Educational consultations;
- Clinical consultations;
- Seminars;
- Memberships; and
- Other professional or educational services.
The precise scope, duration, communication process, expected response times, included deliverables, and customer responsibilities may be explained through a combination of:
- The product detail page;
- Checkout disclosures;
- Confirmation emails;
- Intake forms;
- Onboarding materials;
- Coach communications;
- Service guides; and
- Other written information provided by BBM.
You agree to review and follow the information provided for your specific service.
9.1 Customer responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate information;
- Promptly disclose material changes relevant to the service;
- Communicate respectfully and in good faith;
- Use reasonable judgment when participating in exercise or nutrition-related activities;
- Seek appropriate local or emergency care when needed; and
- Avoid misrepresenting your identity, condition, eligibility, or payment information.
BBM may pause, modify, reassign, or terminate a service when necessary for safety, professional responsibility, staff availability, misconduct, nonpayment, or a material failure to cooperate with the service process.
9.2 Coach and provider assignments
BBM may assign or reassign coaches, clinicians, or staff based on availability, scope of practice, customer needs, scheduling, staffing changes, or other reasonable business considerations.
Purchase of a service does not guarantee permanent access to a particular individual unless expressly agreed in writing.
9.3 Service boundaries
General website content, training programs, group programming, articles, podcasts, social-media content, and ordinary fitness or nutrition coaching are educational in nature.
They do not, by themselves, establish a physician-patient, physical therapist-patient, dietitian-patient, psychologist-patient, or other licensed healthcare relationship.
A professional healthcare relationship may be established only when BBM expressly identifies the service as a clinical or professional healthcare service and the applicable provider agrees to undertake that relationship in accordance with the provider’s licensure, jurisdiction, intake process, and professional obligations.
Injury and rehabilitation coaching is not emergency medical care and is not a substitute for emergency services, urgent evaluation, or locally required in-person care.
10. Health, Exercise, and Medical Disclosures
Exercise, sport, dietary changes, and physical training involve inherent risks. These may include:
- Muscle soreness;
- Falls;
- Strains and sprains;
- Joint or tendon injury;
- Cardiovascular events;
- Adverse reactions;
- Aggravation of an existing condition;
- Serious injury; or
- Death.
No training program or service can eliminate all risk.
Before beginning or materially changing an exercise, nutrition, or health-related program, you should consider whether evaluation or clearance from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional is warranted.
You agree to stop or modify an activity and seek appropriate assistance when you experience concerning symptoms, including severe pain, chest pain, fainting, unusual shortness of breath, acute neurological symptoms, or another apparent emergency.
Call emergency services or seek local emergency care when urgent assistance may be needed. Do not rely on email, app messaging, social media, a coach, or a website contact form for emergency care.
Results vary between individuals. BBM does not guarantee particular outcomes, including:
- Strength gains;
- Muscle gain;
- Weight change;
- Athletic performance;
- Symptom improvement;
- Injury prevention;
- Competition results;
- Laboratory changes; or
- Medical outcomes.
11. Nutrition and Supplement Information
Nutrition-related information is educational and may not be suitable for every person.
You are responsible for considering allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, medication interactions, dietary restrictions, pregnancy, and other individual circumstances before using a food or supplement product.
Statements regarding dietary supplements have not necessarily been evaluated for the diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of disease. Supplements are not substitutes for a varied diet, appropriate medical care, or prescribed treatment.
Follow product labels and storage instructions. Do not use a product if its packaging appears damaged, altered, or contaminated.
12. HSA and FSA Purchases
BBM may make certain products or services available through payment methods associated with a Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, or similar benefit.
Availability of an HSA/FSA payment method does not guarantee that:
- A purchase is eligible under your particular plan;
- Your plan administrator will approve or reimburse it;
- A letter of medical necessity will be accepted;
- The expense qualifies under tax law; or
- The purchase is appropriate for your individual medical circumstances.
Eligibility rules vary and may depend on your plan, diagnosis, documentation, provider, and applicable law.
You are responsible for:
- Confirming eligibility before purchase;
- Obtaining any required medical documentation;
- Keeping receipts and supporting records;
- Responding to your plan administrator; and
- Any tax, repayment, or penalty consequences resulting from an ineligible purchase.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, denial of HSA/FSA eligibility does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
13. Refunds, Returns, and Service Credits
Purchases are subject to our Shipping & Refund Policy and any specific refund terms displayed before purchase.
Except where required by law or expressly approved by BBM:
- Digital products and training programs are nonrefundable;
- Coaching, consultations, memberships, and service charges are nonrefundable;
- Subscription charges already processed are nonrefundable and are not prorated;
- Supplements are nonreturnable; and
- Shipping charges are nonrefundable.
BBM may make discretionary exceptions based on the circumstances. A one-time exception does not modify our policies or require the same outcome in another situation.
Nothing in these Terms limits a nonwaivable consumer right or remedy provided by applicable law.
14. Gift Cards, Credits, and Referral Benefits
Gift cards, store credits, referral benefits, and promotional credits:
- May be subject to separate terms;
- May be limited to eligible products;
- May not be redeemed for cash except where required by law;
- May not be resold or transferred when prohibited;
- May be canceled if obtained fraudulently; and
- May expire only as permitted by applicable law and the terms disclosed when issued.
15. Intellectual Property
The website and its contents—including text, training programs, templates, spreadsheets, graphics, photographs, videos, audio, podcasts, branding, software, product designs, databases, and educational materials—are owned by or licensed to Barbell Medicine and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
“Barbell Medicine,” associated logos, product names, and related marks are trademarks or service marks of BBM or its licensors.
Except for the limited personal-use licenses expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
You may link to publicly available BBM webpages and share BBM’s publicly provided social content for ordinary noncommercial purposes, provided that you:
- Do not alter the material in a misleading way;
- Do not imply endorsement or affiliation;
- Do not remove attribution; and
- Do not reproduce substantial paid or protected content.
16. Reviews, Comments, and User Submissions
When you voluntarily submit a review, testimonial, comment, suggestion, photograph, or similar content to BBM, you represent that:
- You have the right to submit it;
- It is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- It does not violate another person’s rights; and
- It is not unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or misleading.
Unless otherwise agreed, you grant BBM a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display the submission in connection with BBM’s business and marketing.
BBM will not knowingly use private coaching communications, health information, or identifying customer information as a public testimonial without appropriate permission.
17. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the website or services for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- Interfere with website, checkout, account, or app security;
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or customer information;
- Upload malware or harmful code;
- Abuse discounts, refunds, chargebacks, subscriptions, or payment systems;
- Place orders using stolen or unauthorized payment information;
- Harass BBM staff, coaches, providers, or customers;
- Impersonate another person;
- Resell products where BBM has prohibited resale;
- Redistribute paid digital materials;
- Use BBM content to train, build, or operate a competing commercial product without permission; or
- Encourage another person to violate these Terms.
18. Suspension and Termination
We may limit, suspend, or terminate an account, order, subscription, license, or service when we reasonably believe that:
- These Terms have been materially violated;
- Payment is overdue or unauthorized;
- Fraud or abuse has occurred;
- Content is being improperly shared or resold;
- The customer poses a safety or security risk;
- Continued service would conflict with professional obligations;
- Continued access may harm BBM, another user, or a third party; or
- We are legally required to do so.
Where reasonably practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.
Termination for misconduct or a material breach does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute provisions, and restrictions on distribution—will survive.
19. Third-Party Services
Our website and services may integrate with or link to third-party providers, including:
- Payment processors;
- Shipping carriers;
- Mobile application platforms;
- Video or communication platforms;
- Analytics providers;
- Email providers;
- HSA/FSA payment services;
- Social-media services; and
- Other technology vendors.
Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. BBM is not responsible for an independent third party’s acts, omissions, availability, or security, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
20. Website Availability and Changes
We do not guarantee that every website feature, account function, or technology platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may temporarily restrict access for:
- Maintenance;
- Security;
- Updates;
- Platform migration;
- Vendor outages;
- Legal compliance; or
- Events outside our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to preserve paid customer access and restore material services when practical.
21. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, content, products, and services are provided “as is” and “as available,” except for any express warranty stated in writing.
BBM disclaims implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement, to the extent those warranties may legally be disclaimed.
BBM does not warrant that:
- Any product or service will produce a particular result;
- The website or technology will always be uninterrupted;
- All content will be error-free;
- Every program will be appropriate for every person; or
- Defects outside BBM’s reasonable control will be corrected immediately.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the maximum extent permitted.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barbell Medicine and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, coaches, clinicians, authors, affiliates, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost business opportunities, or loss of goodwill arising from the website, a product, or a service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BBM’s total liability arising from a particular product, purchase, subscription, or service will not exceed the amount you paid to BBM for the product or service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, which may include certain liabilities for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury depending on applicable law.
23. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BBM and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Your unlawful use of the website, products, or services;
- Your material violation of these Terms;
- Your unauthorized distribution or commercial use of BBM content;
- Your infringement of another person’s rights; or
- Fraudulent or intentionally harmful conduct.
This provision does not require you to indemnify BBM for BBM’s own negligence or misconduct where such indemnification is prohibited by law.
24. Copyright and Intellectual-Property Complaints
If you believe content on a BBM-controlled website infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, contact us at:
Barbell Medicine, LLC
106 Christel Oaks
Scotts Valley, CA 95066-4114
United States
support@barbellmedicine.com
Your notice should identify:
- The protected work;
- The allegedly infringing material;
- The location of the material;
- Your contact information;
- The basis for your claim; and
- Any other information reasonably needed to evaluate it.
25. Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing a lawsuit concerning these Terms, a purchase, or a BBM service, you and BBM agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally.
A written notice of dispute should include:
- Your name and contact information;
- The applicable order, account, or subscription;
- A description of the issue;
- The resolution requested; and
- Supporting information reasonably available to you.
Notices to BBM should be sent to:
Barbell Medicine, LLC
106 Christel Oaks
Scotts Valley, CA 95066-4114
United States
support@barbellmedicine.com
The parties will ordinarily allow at least 30 days after receipt of a complete notice to attempt informal resolution before initiating litigation.
This requirement does not prevent either party from:
- Seeking emergency or temporary injunctive relief;
- Filing a claim before a limitations period expires;
- Pursuing an eligible small-claims matter; or
- Exercising a right that cannot legally be conditioned on informal resolution.
26. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent federal law or another jurisdiction’s nonwaivable consumer-protection law applies.
Subject to applicable law, legal proceedings that cannot be resolved informally must be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Missouri.
The parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of a nonwaivable right to bring a claim in another legally required forum.
27. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in:
- Our products and services;
- Business operations;
- Technology;
- Legal requirements; or
- Risk and security practices.
The revised Terms will be posted with an updated effective date.
When a change materially affects an existing subscription, paid service, or previously purchased license, we will provide additional notice when required by law or reasonably appropriate under the circumstances.
Changes do not retroactively remove rights already earned through a completed purchase unless the change is required by law, accepted by the customer, or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, security harm, or unauthorized use.
28. Electronic Communications
You consent to receive transactional communications electronically, including:
- Order confirmations;
- Receipts;
- Subscription notices;
- Renewal or payment notices;
- Account-security notices;
- Policy updates;
- Service communications; and
- Required legal disclosures.
Transactional communications are separate from optional marketing communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications as described in the applicable message, but you may still receive communications needed to administer your orders, subscriptions, accounts, or services.
29. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without BBM’s written consent.
BBM may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, ownership change, or transfer of the applicable business, provided that the successor remains responsible for BBM’s applicable obligations.
30. Severability and Waiver
If a court determines that part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted or modified as necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
BBM’s failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
31. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the policies, disclosures, service materials, and product-specific agreements incorporated into them, constitute the agreement between you and BBM concerning the applicable website use, purchase, product, or service.
They supersede prior general discussions or representations concerning the same subject, but they do not override a separate written agreement signed by an authorized BBM representative.
